One National University faculty member and 19 officials have been sent into retirement
The decision was made during the university's 269th Syndicate meeting.

One teacher and 19 officials of the National University have been retired under the voluntary retirement scheme after completing 25 years of service.
The decision was taken at the university's 269th Syndicate meeting, chaired by Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr ASM Amanullah, according to a press release issued on Sunday by the university’s acting director of public relations, Mostafizur Rahman. The meeting was held Saturday evening at the university’s city office in Dhanmondi.
The retirements were approved under provisions for voluntary retirement and retirement in the university’s interest, as outlined in the university’s service regulations. These provisions were initially adopted at the 263rd Syndicate meeting on November 3 and later endorsed by a special Senate session on December 15.
Prof Dr Abu Md Iqbal Rumi Shah of the Department of History, along with 19 officials, was retired under this decision.
