NCP Youth Wing Jatiya Juboshokti Unveils 131-Member Convening Committee

The youth wing of the newly established National Citizen Party (NCP), known as Jatiya Juboshokti and led by prominent figures from the July Uprising, was officially launched during a rally on Friday afternoon in Dhaka. The event took place outside the abandoned central office of the now-banned Awami League on Shaheed Abrar Fahad Avenue, formerly Bangabandhu Avenue.

At the rally, the NCP announced the formation of a 131-member convening committee for Jatiya Juboshokti, according to bdnews24.com. Tarikul Islam, a practicing lawyer at the Supreme Court and joint chief coordinator of the NCP, was appointed convener of the youth wing. Zahedul Islam, a medical professional and NCP joint secretary, was named secretary, while Farhad Sohel took on the role of chief organiser.

The committee's top leaders were announced by NCP Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwari, with the remaining members introduced by Zahedul Islam. Other key appointments include Tuhin Mahmud as senior joint convener, and Dyuti Aranya Chowdhury and Nahida Bushra as senior joint secretaries.

During the event, Tarikul Islam read the organisation’s founding declaration. NCP Secretary Akhtar Hossain addressed the rally, stating, “The interim government has legally banned the fascist Awami League. Now, it is time to ideologically drive the Awami League out of the political arena, and Juboshokti will do that.” He added, “Since the July Uprising, the public has rejected fascist Awami League politics. The forces behind that uprising must now stand united.”
