Ready to Defend 2024’s Freedom with Our Lives: Mamunul Haque

Ameer of Bangladesh Khelafat Majlish, Maulana Muhammad Mamunul Haque, has vowed to defend the hard-earned freedom of 2024, even at the cost of life.

“We’ve seen independence before, but true freedom remained elusive. If anyone attempts to steal the liberty we gained in 2024, we are ready to sacrifice our lives to protect it, InshaAllah,” he said.

Mamunul made the remarks while addressing a pre-rally gathering in Dhaka on Tuesday, held to mark the first anniversary of the July Uprising.

Recalling the sacrifices made during the movement, he said, “Martyrs like Abu Saeed and Mugdho gave their lives in the July Uprising. My own son, Khubaib, was martyred too. We will stand against any conspiracy to marginalize the Islamists.”

As part of the Khelafat Majlish’s countrywide observance of “People’s Uprising Day,” large “Victory Rallies” were held across the nation, with the central rally in Dhaka drawing significant crowds.

Organised by the party’s Dhaka South chapter, the rally started at Shahbagh, marched past Matsya Bhaban and the Press Club, and concluded at Paltan. It was presided over by Dhaka South President Maulana Sanaullah Amini.

Prominent central leaders also addressed the event, including Senior Nayeb-e-Ameer Maulana Yusuf Ashraf, Secretary General Maulana Jalaluddin Ahmed, and other senior and regional leaders.

Enthusiastic participation from supporters and members created a spirited atmosphere across the capital.

Similar rallies and assemblies were held in key cities and districts, including Sylhet, Chattogram, Narayanganj, Faridpur, and many others, as part of the party’s nationwide program.
