Malaysia to Recruit Large Number of Bangladeshi Workers: Asif Mahmud

Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuiyan has announced that Malaysia has, in principle, agreed to recruit a large number of Bangladeshi workers in the near future.

In a post on his verified Facebook account, Asif stated that the Malaysian authorities have also pledged to ensure fair wages, adequate security, and the overall welfare of the workers.

Asif, who also serves as the Youth and Sports Adviser, noted that the development followed a recent meeting in Putrajaya between Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Adviser Dr Asif Nazrul and senior officials from Malaysia’s Ministry of Human Resources.

Key points of the discussion included securing better wages and benefits for current Bangladeshi workers in Malaysia, and establishing a transparent, balanced recruitment framework for future migrant workers.
