Legal notice calls for travel ban on Dr Yunus

A legal notice has been issued to the relevant government authorities seeking to bar outgoing interim government Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus from leaving the country.

The notice was sent on Monday by Supreme Court lawyer M Ashraful Islam.

It cites allegations of involvement in shifting the measles vaccination programme from government control to the private sector. The notice also calls for similar travel restrictions on all members of the interim government’s advisory council, including Dr Yunus.

M Ashraful Islam shared the development in a Facebook post, stating that he had formally requested a ban on the foreign travel of Dr Yunus and other advisers.

He further accused them of playing a role in what he described as an “unlawful and harmful” transfer of vaccination services, including measles, from the public to the private sector.
