The meeting took place at around 10:15am local time, according to the Prime Minister’s Press Wing.

During the discussion, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman underscored the importance of deepening bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Kazakhstan for the mutual benefit of their peoples.

To further strengthen ties, the two leaders agreed to establish permanent diplomatic missions in Dhaka and Astana. They also emphasised the need for regular engagements to enhance interaction among political leaders, business communities and citizens of both countries.

The talks explored opportunities for collaboration in several sectors, including the recruitment of skilled Bangladeshi workers in Kazakhstan, renewable energy, digital infrastructure, technology, agribusiness and food processing.

The Kazakh premier also sought Bangladesh’s support for Kazakhstan’s proposal to create a specialised United Nations entity dedicated to water diplomacy.

In response, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman assured him of Bangladesh’s full support for the initiative.
