Four members of the same family were found dead at the Mirpur Bihari Camp

Police recovered the bodies of a couple and their two young children from a house at the Wapda Bihari Camp in Mirpur-11 of the capital.

The deceased were identified as Mohammad Masum, 35, his wife Fatema Akhtar Sumi, 30, and their sons Minhaz, 4, and Asad, 2.

AKM Alamgir Jahan, officer-in-charge of Pallabi Police Station, said the bodies were found around 1:00pm on Thursday.

He added that police and the CID crime scene unit were at the location, completing legal procedures, and arranging to send the bodies to a hospital morgue for post-mortem examinations.

Citing neighbours, police said the family had been struggling financially and was burdened by debt. Investigators suspect the parents may have killed their children before taking their own lives due to despair.
