Final List Of Candidates For CCCI Election Announced

The Election Board formed by the Ministry of Commerce (Trade Organisation-1) has announced the final list of candidates for the Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) board of directors election.
According to the final list of valid candidates released on Sunday, six directors have been elected unopposed. They are Mohammad Akhtar Parvez, Mohammad Amirul Haque, and SM Saiful Alam from the Trade Group, and Absar Hasan Chowdhury, Mohammad Monir Uddin, and Mohammad Sajjad Un Nawaz from the Town Association Group.
The CCCI board has a total of 24 director posts across four categories: 12 from the Ordinary Member category, six from the Associate Member category, three from the Trade Group, and three from the Town Association Group.
A total of 57 candidates will contest the remaining 18 director posts, with 41 candidates vying for 12 posts in the Ordinary Member category and 16 candidates competing for six posts in the Associate Member category.
The valid candidates for the Ordinary Member category are: ASM Ismail Khan, ATM Rezaul Karim, Abu Haider Chowdhury, Ahmed Rashid Amu, Ahmed-ul Alam Chowdhury (Russel), Md. Salamat Ali, Amanullah Al-Sagir, Asad Iftekhar, Emad Ershad, Jasim Uddin Chowdhury, Javed Siddiqui, Kamal Mostafa Chowdhury, Kazi Imran F Rahman, Masud Ahmed, Md. Nasir Uddin Chowdhury, Md. Abdul Quader, Md. Absar Hossain, Md. Abu Henna Farooqui, Md. Arif Hossain, Md. Ashiq Ibne Safa, Md. Delwar Hossain, Md. Golam Sarwar, Md. Humayun Kabir Patwari, Md. Jamal Uddin, Md. Nazmul Huda, Md. Shawkat Ali, Md. Wahid Murad Chowdhury, Mohammad Azizul Haque, Mohammad Rashed Ali, Mohammad Shahidul Islam Chowdhury, Mohammad Alauddin Al Azad, Mohammad Habibur Rahman, Mohammad Musa, Mohammad Shafiul Alam, Rakibul Alam Chowdhury, Riaz Waze, Salauddin Ahmed, Sartaj Mohammad Imran, Shahidul Alam, Shahzada Mohammad Fawzul Alif Khan, and Tausif Ahmed.
Candidates for the Associate Member category include: Md. Kamrul Huda, Md. Nezam Uddin, Md. Parvez Iqbal Sharif, Md. Selim Noor, Md. Shawkat Ali, Md. Moshihul Alam, Md. Alauddin Al Azad, Mohammad Ayub, Md. Nurul Islam, Mohammad Rafiqul Islam, Mostaq Ahmed Chowdhury, SM Kamal Uddin, SM Nurul Haque, Sarwar Alam Khan, Syed Khurshid Alam, and Syed Mustafa Kamal Pasha.
The CCCI board election is scheduled for November 1. A total of 71 candidates submitted their nomination papers on September 21. Although 35 nominations were initially rejected, many were reinstated through the appeal process.
