Engineer killed in Natore road crash just hours before wedding

A 28-year-old engineer was killed in a tragic road accident in Natore’s Baraigram upazila on Sunday morning, just a day before his wedding.

The victim, Md Zulfikar, who worked for a private company in Dhaka, had set out early in his private car to bring his sister and brother-in-law from Dashuria in Pabna to Bonpara.

According to highway police, he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the back of a stationary truck. The impact left the car mangled and lodged beneath the truck, killing him on the spot.

Locals rushed to the scene after hearing about the crash, but there was little they could do. Police later recovered the body and informed his family.

Back home, what was meant to be a house full of wedding celebrations turned into a scene of deep mourning, as relatives and neighbours gathered in shock and grief.

Officer-in-Charge of Bonpara Highway Police Station, Moniruzzaman, said the body would be handed over to the family as no complaint had been filed, though a general diary would be recorded in connection with the incident.
