EC to hold meeting with foreign diplomats and envoys today

The Election Commission is scheduled to hold a key meeting today, Sunday (25 January), with diplomats from all foreign missions based in Bangladesh, ahead of the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election and referendum.

Election Commissioner Abdur Rahmanel Masud confirmed the development to the media on Thursday (22 January).

He said the meeting will begin at 10:30am at the Westin Hotel and will be attended by all members of the Election Commission. Diplomats, ambassadors from various countries, and representatives of the United Nations stationed in Bangladesh have been invited.

Masud added that the discussion will focus on the Commission’s preparations for the national election, steps to ensure transparency, and matters related to international observation of the polls.
