DMP prohibits gatherings near Shahbagh intersection and the Secretariat

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) issued a notification on Thursday prohibiting all forms of gatherings and rallies at key locations in the capital, including the Shahbagh intersection, Secretariat, and the Chief Advisor’s residence.  

To maintain public order, processions, marches, rallies, and other gatherings have been banned in areas surrounding the Bangladesh Secretariat, InterContinental Dhaka hotel, Shahbagh intersection, Kakrail intersection, Mintoo Road, and the Chief Advisor’s Jamuna residence.  

The ban will remain in effect until further notice, as stated in the notification signed by DMP Commissioner Sheikh Sazzat Ali.
