DMP Bans Gatherings Around Secretariat, CA’s Residence

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has announced a ban on all rallies, processions, demonstrations, and gatherings in key areas around the Secretariat and the Chief Adviser’s residence, effective from Tuesday, October 7, until further notice.

A public notice signed by DMP Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali listed the restricted zones, including the Hotel Intercontinental crossing, Kakrail Mosque crossing, Minto Road, Officer’s Club crossing, and surrounding areas.

The ban has been imposed under Section 29 of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ordinance (Ordinance No. III/76), citing the need to maintain public order and ensure the safety of the Chief Adviser.
