DB prepares for full-scale operations ahead of Ramadan
DB Police have been diligently working throughout Ramadan to maintain security, says Additional Commissioner Rezaul Karim Mallik.
The Detective Branch (DB) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) is set to launch a special operation ahead of Ramadan to ensure public safety. Additional Commissioner Rezaul Karim Mallik stated, "We have already received intelligence reports on criminals in various areas and will take decisive action against them."
He made this announcement during a press conference at the DMP Media Center on Saturday at 11:30 AM. The event, titled "Planned Operations by DB to Maintain Law and Order During Ramadan," highlighted the department’s proactive security measures.
During the briefing, Mallik emphasized that DB police have been working tirelessly throughout Ramadan to uphold security. He noted that efforts are in place to identify criminals before they act, even those operating in disguise.
Addressing recent crime trends, he revealed that members of juvenile gangs are increasingly involved in criminal activities, and some supporters of the former ruling party are inciting crime. He confirmed that many offenders have already been brought to justice.
Issuing a firm warning, Mallik stated, "Anyone involved in criminal activities will face legal consequences. Intelligence surveillance has been intensified at key locations, including banks, shopping malls, launch terminals, bus stops, and airports, to ensure public safety during Ramadan."
