Chief Adviser meets BNP, Jamaat, and NCP leaders following attack on Hadi
The meeting comes in the wake of Friday’s shooting of Hadi, a prospective independent candidate from the Dhaka-8 constituency, in the Bijoynagar area.
Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus is holding talks with leaders of the BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami and the National Citizen Party (NCP) following the shooting of Osman Hadi, an election aspirant and convener of Inquilab Mancha.
The meeting began at around 11:15am on Saturday at the State Guest House Jamuna.
An official at the Chief Adviser’s Office said each party is represented by two leaders.
The BNP delegation includes Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed and retired Army major Hafiz Uddin Ahmed.
Jamaat-e-Islami is represented by Secretary General Mia Golam Porwar and Assistant Secretary General Ehsanul Mahbub Zubair, while the NCP delegation comprises Convener Nahid Islam and Southern Region Chief Organiser Hasnat Abdullah.
