The champion Bangladesh women’s team will return home from Bangkok this evening (Thursday) after completing their campaign in the recently concluded inaugural SAFF Women’s Futsal Championship.
The team is scheduled to arrive at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 6:15pm aboard BG-389.
Led by captain Sabina Khatun, Bangladesh emerged unbeaten champions in the seven-nation tournament. To mark the historic achievement, the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) has arranged a formal reception for the team.
Following their arrival, the players will be taken from the airport in an open-top bus to the Hatirjheel Amphitheatre, where a ceremonial reception will be held in their honour.
Bangladesh began their campaign with a 3–1 victory over India. They then came from behind to draw 3–3 with Bhutan, defeated Nepal 3–0, beat Sri Lanka 6–3, thrashed Pakistan 9–1, and finally crushed Maldives 14–2 to clinch the title.
All matches of the tournament were held at the Nonthaburi Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
