Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus Urges China’s Greater Role in Peace and Stability
Beijing, [Date] – Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus today called on China to take a more significant role in fostering peace, prosperity, and stability for both nations.
The Chief Adviser made this appeal during bilateral talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing this morning.
During their discussions, both leaders addressed various matters of mutual interest.
At the beginning of his speech, Prof. Yunus extended heartfelt greetings to President Xi Jinping on behalf of Bangladesh and its people.
Referring to the July uprising in Bangladesh, he stated that the movement paved the way for building a "New Bangladesh."
Prof. Yunus also recalled his longstanding association with China, highlighting his role in introducing Grameen Bank and social business initiatives in the country.
A key focus of the meeting was the Rohingya crisis, where the Chief Adviser sought China's active involvement in ensuring the safe and dignified repatriation of Rohingyas to Myanmar.
Both Prof. Yunus and President Xi Jinping led the discussions on behalf of their respective sides.
Later today, Prof. Yunus will participate in an "Investment Dialogue" with Chinese business leaders at The Presidential Beijing. The event aims to showcase Bangladesh’s business-friendly environment and attract Chinese investments.
Additionally, the Chief Adviser will take part in three roundtable discussions covering:

These sessions will provide an opportunity for Prof. Yunus to engage with CEOs, experts from the social business sector, senior officials from leading Chinese firms, and business representatives.
In the evening, Prof. Yunus will attend a dinner hosted by the Bangladesh Ambassador to China.
