CA: Govt to assume responsibility for Hadi’s wife and only child
Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus today said the government would assume responsibility for the wife and only child of Shaheed Sharif Osman Hadi, who died on Thursday night while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Singapore.
“The government will take responsibility for the wife and only child of Shaheed Osman Hadi,” he said while addressing the nation tonight.
Hadi, a fearless frontline fighter of the July Uprising and spokesperson of the Inqilab Mancha, passed away after battling for his life for six days.
“Today, I come before you with deeply heartbreaking news. Sharif Osman Hadi, the fearless frontline fighter of the July Uprising and spokesperson of the Inqilab Mancha, is no longer with us. Singapore’s Foreign Minister Dr Vivian Balakrishnan informed me of the matter over the phone a few minutes ago,” Prof Yunus said in his address.
Expressing profound shock and sorrow at Hadi’s untimely death, he conveyed his deepest sympathy to the bereaved family, relatives and colleagues.
Urging the nation to pray for the eternal peace of Shaheed Hadi’s soul, the Chief Adviser said, “May Almighty Allah accept this immortal soldier of the struggle against fascism and hegemony as a martyr. We all pray together.”
Hadi, who was also an aspiring independent candidate for Dhaka-8, was shot on December 12 while travelling in a battery-run auto-rickshaw in the capital’s Paltan area.
