Prime Minister said Bangladesh is moving steadily toward a self-reliant energy system
Prime Minister said Bangladesh is moving steadily toward a self-reliant energy system.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Sunday said Bangladesh is steadily progressing toward clean energy, a green economy, and a self-reliant energy system.
He made the remarks while addressing the inaugural ceremony of the “Renewable Solar Power On-Grid Rooftop” initiative at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban this morning.
“Today we are launching an initiative that is not merely a power generation project, but also a symbol of Bangladesh’s sustainable future,” the premier said.
He further said, “With the inauguration of the one-megawatt rooftop solar power system at the Sangsad Bhaban, we are sending a strong message that Bangladesh is steadily moving toward clean energy, a green economy, and an energy system based on self-reliance.”
At the request of the Prime Minister, JS Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad formally inaugurated the “Renewable Solar Power On-Grid Rooftop” initiative.
Speaking at the event, Tarique Rahman, also chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party, said the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban, designed by Louis I. Kahn, stands as a symbol of the country’s democracy.
“By harnessing solar energy on the rooftop of this iconic building, we want to show that leadership should be reflected not only in policies, but also through practical actions,” he added.
