BIDA unveils revamped, investor-friendly website

The Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) officially launched its newly redesigned website today, aiming to enhance the country's investment ecosystem.

Officials stated that the updated platform will play a vital role in strengthening Bangladesh's investment infrastructure and attracting both domestic and foreign investors.

The website highlights priority sectors identified in BIDA’s Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) heatmap and offers improved access to essential services for investors. It also features updated policy guidelines and contact information for designated focal points across various ministries and investment-related agencies. Alongside the new site, BIDA has introduced a refreshed logo.

BIDA Executive Chairman Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun remarked that the previous website resembled a typical government portal and lacked the functionality needed to support investors effectively.

“It wasn’t designed to provide proactive investment assistance. The new platform reflects our commitment to transparency, strategic engagement, and investor-focused service delivery. Through this website, we’re clearly communicating our dedication to building an investor-friendly environment in Bangladesh,” he said.

Nahian Rahman Rochi, BIDA’s Head of Business Development, noted that global investors often evaluate a country’s investment potential through the websites of its investment authorities before making any decisions.

“These platforms are critical for sharing investment-related information, responding to queries, and showcasing a country’s competitive edge,” Rochi explained.

He added that an investor’s interest in a country now often hinges on the quality of its digital presence. “That’s why BIDA’s new website has been designed to align with every stage of the investor journey—from exploring opportunities and assessing market potential to establishing meaningful connections for successful investment realization,” he said.
