Asif Mahmud has said that advisers who plan to enter politics must step down before the announcement of the Jatiya Sangsad election schedule

A day after announcing his decision to step down from his government post, Asif Mahmud Shajib Bhuiyan, an adviser to the interim administration, said that all advisers intending to enter politics should resign before the schedule for the 13th parliamentary election is announced.

“It's not just student advisers—any adviser planning to engage in politics ahead of the upcoming general election should leave their post,” he told reporters at his office in the Secretariat in Dhaka on Thursday.
