Pakistani commerce minister to visit Bangladesh later this month
Both sides are in talks to pave the way for the Pakistani finance minister’s visit to Dhaka.

Pakistan’s Commerce Minister Jam Jamal Khan is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka on 21 August for a four-day official visit, diplomatic sources have said.
Meanwhile, the interim government is in discussions with Islamabad to arrange a visit by Pakistan’s Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb.
During his stay, Jam Jamal Khan is expected to focus on boosting bilateral trade with Bangladesh.
The visit of Pakistan’s Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, set for 23–24 August, has already been confirmed. This will mark the first official trip to Dhaka by a Pakistani foreign minister since November 2012, when Hina Rabbani Khar made a brief five-hour stop to invite then–Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to a D-8 summit.
The flurry of visits by three senior Pakistani ministers follows the momentum created by Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch’s trip to Dhaka on 16–17 April — the first visit by a Pakistani foreign secretary in 15 years.
