All Religious Festivals in New Bangladesh to Be Celebrated in a Fearless and Joyful Atmosphere: Sharmeen Murshid
Social Welfare Adviser Sharmeen S. Murshid has stated that all religious festivals in New Bangladesh will be observed in a fearless and joyful environment.
She made the remarks while visiting Dhakeshwari National Temple in Old Dhaka on Tuesday.
The Adviser urged people of all religions, castes, and tribes to fulfill their social responsibilities to ensure the smooth celebration of Sharadiya Durga Puja, promoting religious harmony and mutual respect. She also emphasized the need to prioritize the safety of women and children.
Sharmeen Murshid added that citizens’ cooperation in providing timely information will enable authorities to respond quickly to any unforeseen situation.
Speaking with devotees at the temple, attendees confirmed that the puja is being conducted peacefully, allowing them to celebrate the festival with devotion.
The Adviser also highlighted that “help desks” have been established at each puja mandap under initiatives by the Ministry of Social Welfare and the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs.
On the occasion, Primary and Mass Education Adviser Prof. Dr. Bidhan Ranjan Roy Podder remarked that Durga Puja is not only a religious festival but also a symbol of societal harmony and unity. He reaffirmed the commitment of citizens from all religions, castes, and tribes to live together and progress collectively toward national development.
A total of 1,64,524 personnel—1,63,877 from the Ministry of Social Welfare and 9,353 from the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs—are deployed to ensure the smooth completion of Durga Puja across the country.
