ACC to take action against the use of black money in the national election
The commission will also look into cases where candidates submit false information in their affidavits, Chairman Momen said.
Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Chairman Mohammad Abdul Momen has said the commission will take steps to curb the use of black money in the upcoming parliamentary election.
Speaking to the media on Monday, he said the ACC would also investigate candidates who submit false information in their affidavits.
In response to a query, Momen noted that the commission’s efforts would focus on disrupting the supply chains of black money during the polls, adding that the ACC, Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU), and other relevant agencies would work in coordination.
He further urged citizens to reject corrupt candidates and those possessing black money in the national election.
Momen also mentioned that the enforcement unit’s activities would be intensified to prevent the flow of illicit funds during the election period.
