Twelve garment factories in Gazipur have resumed operations today following a temporary closure. Authorities had declared a holiday for these factories in the Gazipur Sadar area yesterday to address escalating labour unrest. According to Assistant Superintendent of Gazipur Industrial Police, Mosharraf Hossain, the situation is now stable, with employees returning to work since morning, including in areas like Tongi, as reported by our correspondent. Most factories were operational until noon yesterday, but unrest erupted on Basan regional road when job seekers protested, causing the situation to deteriorate.
