Chief Adviser Prof. Muhammad Yunus on Tuesday called upon the women of Bangladesh to take the lead in realizing the vision of building a new Bangladesh.
He made this appeal while addressing a women's conference at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital this afternoon. The event was jointly organized by the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs and the Ministry of Social Welfare to mark Human Rights Day and the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.
Highlighting the potential of the nation’s women, Yunus said the new generation has the ability to make a remarkable impact on the global stage. He praised the courage and resilience demonstrated by Bangladeshi girls during the July-August revolution, stating that their strength surpasses that of girls in many other countries.
The chief adviser further proposed that all girls in Bangladesh should take to the streets in unity on a designated day, suggesting December 10 as a symbolic occasion for such a demonstration.
The conference was presided over by Women and Children Affairs Adviser Sharmeen S. Murshid and also featured addresses from Women and Children Affairs Secretary Mamtaz Ahmed and the young leaders of the July-August revolution.
