The BNP has expressed disappointment over the Chief Advisor's recent statement regarding the upcoming elections

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir expressed disappointment over the Chief Adviser’s failure to provide a clear roadmap and specific timeframe for the elections in his recent speech. He emphasized the urgency of holding the elections, noting that the Election Commission has already been established and reforms completed. Fakhrul urged the Chief Adviser to clarify the timeline for the elections.

Fakhrul also criticized the contradictory statements made by Yunus and his press secretary regarding the election timeline, stating, "The Chief Adviser mentioned late 2025 or January 2026, but the press secretary later stated the election could be held in June 2026. These conflicting remarks will create confusion." He expressed frustration over the lack of clarity and highlighted the need for dialogue among political parties and stakeholders to determine the election timeline.
