Government says fuel stock and supply remain stable
The Energy and Mineral Resources Division has urged the public not to panic or engage in excessive fuel purchases, assuring that fuel stock and supply across the country remain normal.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting today, the government is continuing to procure sufficient fuel from the international market to ensure an uninterrupted supply in line with demand. As a result, there is no risk of a fuel shortage.
The statement also cautioned that petrol, octane, and diesel are highly flammable, making private storage extremely hazardous.
It further noted that strict action is being taken against those involved in illegal fuel hoarding for profiteering. Mobile courts, led by executive magistrates, are operating in every district to curb such activities.
The release added that fuel prices have not been increased, urging the public not to be misled by rumors.
