Remittances increased by 3% in January
Remittances rose by 3% year-on-year to $2.18 billion in January 2025, despite Bangladesh Bank imposing a ceiling on banks for remittance collection.

As a result, total remittances for the July-January period of the 2024-25 fiscal year grew by 24% year-on-year, reaching $15.96 billion, according to data released by Bangladesh Bank today. In January of the previous year, remittance inflows had risen by 7% year-on-year.
