High Court rules 15th Amendment unconstitutional

The High Court has ruled the 15th Amendment to the Constitution, which abolished the caretaker government system, as unconstitutional. 

The verdict was delivered on Tuesday at around 11:45 am by the High Court bench comprising Justice Farah Mahbub and Justice Debashish Roy Chowdhury. 

The reading of the judgment commenced earlier in the morning, following a decision to announce the verdict after the hearing on the rule concluded on December 5.
