Home adviser: Committee to investigate BDR carnage to be formed within 5 working days

A committee will be established within the next five working days to thoroughly investigate the killings at the BDR (now BGB) headquarters in Dhaka's Pilkhana area, Home Adviser Jahangir Alam Chowdhury announced on Tuesday. 

The committee will include a retired justice, representatives from civil society, the armed forces, and retired officials from the police department. However, the exact number of members has not been finalized, with possibilities ranging from five to nine members, most of whom will be from the armed forces. 

Home Adviser Jahangir Alam Chowdhury made the remarks during a media briefing at the secretariat on Tuesday morning. 

The tragic incident at the BDR headquarters in Pilkhana occurred on February 25-26, 2009.
