A Bangladeshi expatriate was killed in an Israeli airstrike in war-torn Lebanon while on his way to work, the Bangladesh embassy reported on Sunday.

The incident took place in Beirut’s Grazmiye area on Saturday afternoon (local time). The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Nizam Uddin, son of Mohammad Abdul Quddus from Khaira in Kasba Upazila, Brahmanbaria. He was approximately 31 years old and held passport number EF0620043.

Bangladesh's ambassador to Lebanon, Air Vice Marshal Javed Tanveer Khan, expressed deep sorrow over the loss of this "remittance fighter." He offered prayers for the departed soul and extended heartfelt condolences to the grieving family.
