Afghanistan has chosen to bat first against Bangladesh in the opening ODI
Najmul Hossain Shanto has stepped down as the captain of the Test and T20 teams but remains the captain of the ODI side

Afghanistan won the toss and opted to bat first in the opening ODI of the three-match series against Bangladesh at Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.
This marks Bangladesh’s first ODI since March of this year. The team enters the series following losses in the home Test series against South Africa and amid several off-field challenges.
Najmul Hossain Shanto has stepped down from his captaincy in Tests and T20s but continues to lead the ODI team.
Afghanistan (Playing XI): Rahmanullah Gurbaz(w), Sediqullah Atal, Rahmat Shah, Hashmatullah Shahidi(c), Azmatullah Omarzai, Mohammad Nabi, Gulbadin Naib, Rashid Khan, Allah Ghazanfar, Nangeyalia Kharote, Fazalhaq Farooqi.
Bangladesh (Playing XI): Tanzid Hasan, Soumya Sarkar, Towhid Hridoy, Najmul Hossain Shanto(c), Mahmudullah, Mushfiqur Rahim(w), Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Rishad Hossain, Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, Shoriful Islam.
