Zelensky says Russia’s rejection of a ceasefire is “making the situation more difficult”

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russia’s refusal to agree to a ceasefire was hindering efforts to resolve Moscow’s war, now dragging on for more than three years.

“Russia continues to dismiss repeated calls for a ceasefire and has yet to decide when it will end the bloodshed. This only makes the situation more difficult,” he wrote in a social media post late Saturday.

“If they cannot summon the will to follow the simple order to stop their strikes, it will take immense effort to push Russia toward something far greater — learning to coexist peacefully with its neighbors for generations.”
