Twelve platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) are continuing their patrols across the capital to reinforce security and maintain law and order.

The government deployed the paramilitary force in Dhaka following incidents of arson attacks on vehicles by miscreants.

Speaking to BSS, Shariful Islam, Public Relations Officer at the BGB headquarters, confirmed that 12 BGB platoons are currently positioned in the capital.

He said the force is patrolling key locations, including the Hotel Intercontinental area, Mymensingh Road, Mirpur Road, Rokeya Sarani, the Airport area, Abdullahpur, Kakrail, Shishu Academy, the High Court premises and other major thoroughfares.

Earlier, the government had deployed 14 BGB platoons in Dhaka and surrounding districts to help maintain law and order.
