The three-day 13th Asian Tourism Fair (ATF) has kicked off at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in the capital.

The fair opened at 10:00am and will remain open to visitors until 7:00pm each day, with organisers seeking to attract both domestic and international tourists while creating new business opportunities in the tourism sector.

Asian Tourism Fair Chairman Mahiuddin Helal disclosed the details in a press release issued on Wednesday (16 September).

According to the release, Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister M Rashiduzzaman Millat will inaugurate the fair. Ministry Secretary Fahmida Akhter, along with ambassadors and high commissioners from various countries, will attend the opening ceremony.

More than 200 organisations from 10 countries, including Bangladesh, are participating in this year’s fair, with around 300 stalls set up for the event.

The fair features a ‘Destination Bangladesh Showcase’, an ‘International Tourism Showcase’ and a ‘Bangladesh Tourism Investment Showcase’.

The programme also includes B2B sessions, seminars, destination presentations, panel discussions, product promotions and networking events.

Cultural performances by artists from Bangladesh, Nepal and the Philippines will be held every evening throughout the fair.
