The Referendum Ordinance, 2025 has been promulgated

The Government has issued the Referendum Ordinance, 2025, establishing the legal framework for holding a national referendum on proposed constitutional reforms.

Dr. Md. Rezaul Karim, Public Relations Officer at the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, confirmed the development today.

Prepared by the Printing and Publication Wing of the Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Division under the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, the ordinance has been released for public information.

Designated as Ordinance No. 67, it authorises the conduct of a referendum to determine public approval of specific constitutional reform proposals outlined in the July National Charter (Constitutional Reform) Implementation Order, 2025.

The ordinance takes immediate effect.
