Tamim Iqbal has pledged to put fan experience first as Bangladesh prepares for the upcoming series against New Zealand national cricket team.

Tamim Iqbal, the newly appointed ad-hoc committee chairman, has announced a major shift in priorities at the Bangladesh Cricket Board, pledging to place spectators’ experience at the forefront starting with the upcoming home series against the New Zealand national cricket team.

In a video message released on Thursday, Tamim acknowledged a long-standing disconnect with supporters, saying the board had never adequately engaged with its most important stakeholders—the fans. He stressed the need for change, expressing his intention to ensure that attending a match becomes a truly memorable experience for spectators.

As part of this effort, Tamim revealed plans for direct interaction with fans, saying he will personally meet a small group of attendees selected at random during matches to hear their feedback and understand their concerns. The initiative is set to begin from the first match of the New Zealand series on the 17th.

He also outlined operational steps to support the plan, noting that board staff will regularly visit different sections of the stadium to speak with spectators and report their observations directly to him.

Emphasising accountability and immediate action, Tamim said the changes will be implemented from the next match, with the goal of turning every Bangladesh game into a memorable experience for fans.
