Sharmeen Murshid says the new Bangladesh will be built through the strength and vision of its youth.
Social Welfare and Women and Children Affairs Adviser Sharmeen S Murshid today lauded the youth for their resilience and leadership, expressing confidence that they would lead the creation of a “New Bangladesh” powered by the strength of the young generation.
“Amid the hardships of the July Uprising, I see new leadership emerging from the wounded faces of our youth. We will build a new Bangladesh by nurturing and empowering this young society,” she said.
She made the remarks while inaugurating a youth rally titled “Involvement of the Youth Community in the Protection of Children and Women” at the Bangladesh Film Archive auditorium in Agargaon, Dhaka, according to a press release.
At the event, a local youth delegation officially launched its journey from Dhaka to raise awareness and take action against child and women abuse across the country.

“We will create a society where power stands for love and responsibility for service. From homes to workplaces to cyberspace, we will ensure the safety of women and children everywhere,” she emphasized.
The event was organized in collaboration with Nirapad Alliance and Dreams on the Way.
Among others, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs Dr. Prakash Kanti Chowdhury, Nirapad Alliance Vice Chairman Barrister Tahmidur Rahman, General Secretary Hatim Sadab Liyan, Treasurer Masum Muhammad, AGM Bayzid, Kotha Bolo Nari founder Narayan Nusrat Haque, and July Warrior Tamim spoke at the rally.
