Police have arrested 72 individuals from various regions across the country for their alleged involvement in acts of vandalism during Monday's protest, which was held to demand an end to the ongoing genocide in Gaza.
According to a statement from the Police Headquarters, as of 8:00 AM today, arrests have been made in connection with the attacks and vandalism targeting shops and businesses in multiple cities during demonstrations against the Israeli offensive in Gaza.
The arrests include 33 in Khulna, 19 in Sylhet, 5 in Chittagong, 4 each in Gazipur and Narayanganj, 3 in Comilla, and 4 in Cox's Bazar. Additionally, the press wing of the Chief Adviser’s office confirmed that ten cases have been filed so far, with further investigations underway. It also noted that more cases are expected to be lodged as authorities continue to identify those involved in the violent incidents.
