A blazing start with the bat briefly ignited hopes for Bangladesh, but a ruthless Pakistani comeback snuffed them out as the hosts powered to a 57-run win in the second T20I at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium on Friday—sealing the three-match series 2–0 with a game to spare.

Chasing a formidable 202, Bangladesh looked threatening early on, with Tanzid Hasan Tamim leading an explosive charge. The openers hammered 32 runs in just two overs, including four boundaries and a six, raising expectations of a competitive chase.

However, the momentum shifted dramatically. Bangladesh suffered a stunning collapse, losing five wickets in the space of just 18 deliveries. From a strong 38/0, they crumbled to 56/5 in a matter of minutes.

Key batters Parvez Hossain Emon (8), Litton Das (6), Towhid Hridoy (5), and Tanzid (33) fell in quick succession, unable to withstand the mounting pressure.

The collapse continued as Shamim Hossain and Rishad Hossain departed in rapid order, reducing Bangladesh to 78/7 and staring at a heavy defeat.

There was a brief glimmer of resistance from Mehidy Hasan Miraz (23) and a valiant 50 off 31 balls from Tanzim Hasan Sakib, but it only delayed the inevitable. Bangladesh were bowled out for 144, with injured Shoriful Islam unable to bat. Abrar Ahmed starred with the ball, picking up three wickets.

Earlier, Pakistan elected to bat and overcame the early loss of Saim Ayub through a brilliant 103-run stand between Sahibzada Farhan (74 off 41) and Mohammad Haris (41 off 25). Hasan Nawaz’s blistering unbeaten 51 from 26 balls provided the finishing flourish, lifting Pakistan to a commanding 201/6 despite a disciplined finish from the Bangladeshi bowlers.

Following their 37-run victory in the opening match, Pakistan’s emphatic performance on Friday ensured the series was theirs, with one match remaining on Sunday, again in Lahore.
