Recording of the Chief Election Commissioner’s address is underway

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin’s address to the nation, announcing the national election schedule, will be recorded for broadcast around 4pm on Wednesday, Election Commission (EC) Senior Secretary Akhter Ahmed has said.

Before the recording, the CEC is expected to meet with the other Election Commissioners to finalise the date for announcing the schedule, Akhter Ahmed told reporters during a briefing at the EC headquarters in Agargaon, Dhaka.

He spoke to the media after attending a meeting with President Mohammad Shahabuddin at Bangabhaban, where the CEC led the EC delegation.

According to the secretary, the President expressed satisfaction with the Commission’s election preparations, including voter list updates, registration of new political parties, postal voting arrangements, and ballot paper printing. The President also assured the Commission of his full cooperation in ensuring a meaningful national election, Akhter added.
