Netanyahu pledges that militants will face consequences as Hamas admits 'mistake' regarding Bibas' body.

Israel's Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, accused Hamas of killing two Israeli children in Gaza and held the militants responsible for failing to return their mother, Shiri Bibas. Hamas, however, suggested a possible "mix-up of bodies" regarding Bibas' remains. Israeli military spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari claimed the Bibas boys were killed by Palestinian militants "with their bare hands," contradicting Hamas' assertion that an Israeli airstrike was responsible for their deaths.
While Netanyahu vowed retribution against Hamas for this violation, relatives of the Bibas family blamed him for their deaths, accusing him of abandoning them during their captivity.
Hamas later admitted a potential error in the identification of Bibas' body, and Netanyahu promised to make the group "pay the full price" for this breach of the agreement. Despite tensions, an upcoming swap of hostages and Palestinian prisoners was still scheduled to go ahead under a ceasefire deal.
