Miraz Scores Second Test Century, Joins Elite 2000-Run and 200-Wicket Club

Mehidy Hasan Miraz notched up his second Test century on Day Three of the Chattogram Test against Zimbabwe at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Cricket Stadium on Wednesday, marking another memorable outing at the same venue where he scored his maiden ton in 2021 against the West Indies.
With this century, Miraz entered the elite 2,000-run and 200-wicket club in Test cricket — becoming only the second Bangladeshi after Shakib Al Hasan, and the 26th player globally to reach the milestone. Remarkably, he achieved the double in just 53 Tests, one match quicker than Shakib, and stands as the sixth-fastest overall, with England’s Ian Botham holding the record at 42 Tests. Boosted by Miraz’s outstanding performance, Bangladesh continued to dominate, reaching 442 for 9 at stumps and leading Zimbabwe by 215 runs.
