Death Toll from Milestone College Jet Crash Rises to 27

The number of fatalities from the Bangladesh Air Force training jet crash at Milestone College in Dhaka's Uttara has climbed to 27, health officials confirmed today.

Professor Md Sayedur Rahman, special assistant to the chief adviser for the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, shared the update during a press briefing at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in the capital.

He stated that 78 individuals are currently receiving treatment across various hospitals. So far, the bodies of 20 victims have been handed over to their families.

At the National Burn Institute, 10 patients have died, while 42 are undergoing treatment—three of them in extremely critical condition and five in the ICU.

At the Combined Military Hospital (CMH), 28 individuals are admitted, and 15 bodies have been kept there. Eight of these have already been handed over to families. One body was so severely burned that doctors described it as only “remains.” The pilot’s body has not yet been released.

Professor Sayedur Rahman requested the public to pray for the children who suffered severe burns. He also urged people not to crowd the hospitals. While there is currently no shortage of blood donors, he noted that some rare negative blood types may still be needed.

The tragedy occurred around 1:30pm yesterday when a Bangladesh Air Force F-7 aircraft crashed into a building of Milestone College in Uttara.
