Jahangir warns: No one involved in sabotage around August 5 will be spared.

Home Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury on Saturday warned that anyone involved in sabotage or attempts to revive the banned activities of the Awami League (AL) will face stern action, stressing that there is no cause for concern surrounding August 5.
“Regardless of affiliation, no one will be spared,” he said, responding to reporters' questions about a recent meeting between a Bangladesh Army major and AL representatives following a visit to Mohammadpur Police Station in the capital.
Jahangir reaffirmed that AL's activities remain banned and cautioned that any attempt to violate this prohibition will be dealt with under the law.
Asked about the meeting’s objective, he said, “The matter is under investigation and the details will become clear in due course.”
Dismissing any perceived threats ahead of August 5, he said, “There is no apprehension about August 5,” and urged media outlets to continue playing a constructive role in preserving peace.
He added, “Truthful reporting by the media has already helped counter foreign propaganda against Bangladesh. Continued commitment to factual journalism will serve the public interest and strengthen law and order.”
