Hadi’s janaza will be held at the South Plaza of the Sangsad Bhaban at 2:00pm today

The namaz-e-janaza of Shaheed Sharif Osman Hadi will take place today at 2:00pm at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban in the capital.

The Chief Adviser’s Press Wing confirmed the schedule on Friday evening and urged those wishing to attend the janaza to refrain from carrying bags or heavy items.

The press wing also said that the government has imposed a ban on drone flights in and around the Sangsad Bhaban during the janaza.

Earlier, Biman Bangladesh Airlines Flight BG 585, carrying Hadi’s body, arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) at 5:48pm on Friday. Hadi passed away on Thursday night while undergoing treatment in Singapore.

A fearless frontline fighter of the July Uprising, spokesperson of the Inqilab Mancha, and an aspiring independent candidate for Dhaka-8, Hadi was shot on December 12 while travelling in a battery-run auto-rickshaw in the capital’s Paltan area.

He was initially taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) and later transferred to Evercare Hospital as his condition worsened. On December 15, he was flown to Singapore by air ambulance for advanced treatment.
