Chief Adviser’s Special Assistant for the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb, has said that the government is committed to ensuring technology education is accessible to students at every level nationwide.

“Bangladesh is moving steadily along the path of digital transformation. Qawmi madrasa students are an important part of this journey. By equipping them with digital skills from the primary level, we can empower them to contribute to building a knowledge-based society and a sustainable economy,” he stated.

Taiyeb made these remarks while addressing a certificate distribution ceremony as chief guest at a basic digital skills training workshop for Qawmi madrasa students, held Thursday at the Bangladesh Academy for Rural Development (BARD) in Cumilla, according to a ministry press release.

Emphasizing the government’s goal of expanding technology education across the country, he said the workshop marked an important step in that direction.

The Special Assistant added that providing Qawmi students with essential digital skills aligned with modern needs would give them access to online learning and technological resources, thereby boosting their employment prospects and enabling them to play a constructive role in national socio-economic development. “In the future, we will provide advanced training through the ICT Division, and we will try to organize such skill development programs nationwide,” he noted.

Taiyeb also distributed certificates among the trainees at the event. Organizers reported that 160 Qawmi students participated in the training in eight batches.

The program was supported by the “Enhancing Digital Government and Economy (EDGE)” project, implemented by the Bangladesh Computer Council under the ICT Division.

BARD Director General Saif Uddin Ahmed chaired the session, while ICT Division Joint Secretary Mohammad Saiful Hasan and Muhtamim of Kasemul Ulum Madrasa, Allama Abdur Razzak, attended as special guests.

Officials from BARD, EDGE project trainers, and Qawmi students were also present.

Earlier, Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb conducted a session on data governance and interoperability at Cumilla University.
