Fazle Elahi has announced that Tarique Rahman is expected to return to Bangladesh in the first week of December
BNP Chairperson’s Security Adviser said that preparations are underway at the house located at 196 Gulshan Avenue for his return.
BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman is expected to return to Bangladesh in the first week of December, according to BNP Chairperson’s Security Adviser Major General (Retd.) Fazle Elahi Akbar.
In an exclusive interview with Somoy News on Saturday, Fazle Elahi confirmed the development.
Party sources said that after spending many years abroad, Tarique Rahman will reside near his mother’s house in Dhaka following his return. Preparations are underway at the residence located at 196 Gulshan Avenue for his stay.
Meanwhile, renovation work is ongoing at the office where he will operate after his return, and security has been tightened at the BNP Chairperson’s Office on Road 86, Gulshan-2.
Fazle Elahi also mentioned that Tarique Rahman had planned to visit Saudi Arabia this month to perform Umrah, but he has decided to postpone the pilgrimage until after the national election due to the current situation.
It may be noted that Tarique Rahman has been residing in London, United Kingdom, since September 2008.
