Fakhrul warns enemies of independence are attempting a comeback
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Tuesday said that the forces opposed to Bangladesh’s independence are once again attempting to re-emerge.
He made the comments after placing a floral wreath at the grave of the party’s founder, the late President Ziaur Rahman, at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the capital on the morning of December 16.
“Those who stood against independence in 1971 are trying to resurface,” Fakhrul said. “However, the people of Bangladesh—who believe in freedom, sovereignty and democracy—will resist all such plots, protect the country’s independence, and uphold democratic values, Insha’Allah.”
