DMP’s Tejgaon Division detains 41 suspects in special daylong anti-crime operation

The Tejgaon Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested 41 people in a special daylong anti-crime drive carried out across six police station areas under its jurisdiction.
Confirming the development on Monday, DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media) Talebur Rahman said the operation was aimed at suspects linked to various criminal activities. The detainees include individuals named in ongoing cases, drug peddlers, muggers, thieves, listed criminals, terrorists, and convicts with pending arrest warrants.
In Adabor, police detained three people—Shahadat Hossain Khan, Jewel Rana, and Russel Molla—while in Mohammadpur, 11 suspects including known drug dealers were picked up. They are Iftan, Ismail, Shamim, Mojaffer, Apurbo, Korban, Hridoy, Arman, Wasim, Rifat, and Raihan Kabir.
Four others—Anwar Hossain, Russel Mia, Intaj, and Nupur alias Liza—were arrested in Tejgaon, and three more, Niyamat Ali, Rezaul Karim Patowary, and Riad Munshi, from Tejgaon Industrial Area.
In Hatirjheel, police held five suspects: Shuvo, Mobarak Ullah, Rony Das, Babu Hawlader alias Ample Babu, and Awal Chowkidar Ovi.
The highest number of arrests came from Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, where 15 individuals were detained: Shafiur, Mamun, Ramzan, Jasim, Shamim, Maruf, Mizan, Jewel, Raihan, Alamin, Musha, Farhan, Kalu, Shakil, and Rafsanul.
All arrestees have been produced before the court, DC Rahman said.
